8/27/10 UPDATE: WFSE/AFSCME team sets brisk pace in bargaining, but waits for at least 21 counterproposals from management
GENERAL GOVERNMENT BARGAINING UPDATE: SOME PROGRESS, BUT MOST OF THE BALLS ARE IN MANAGEMENT’S COURT
In the latest round of General Government bargaining Wednesday and Thursday, the Federation and state reached tentative agreement (TA) on six more articles, for a total of 18 TA’s to date. But that means 34 other articles are outstanding (not counting the health care article and one forwarded to supplemental bargaining). Of those, at least 21 are in management’s court, leaving the union side waiting for the state’s counterproposals. The union side is churning along and working long hours and moving its counterproposals across the table.
The next bargaining session is set for Sept. 1 and 2. Two more days have been added Sept. 8 and 9.
